Two nights is considered an absolute minimum, three to five nights is recommended.

Q Can I take my car on the Ferry Boat?
A No, it is a small passenger-only ferry.
Q How often does the ferryboat run?
A Operates between Whitianga and Ferry Landing 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Winter time-table is 7.00 am to 6.30 pm - (1 hour break) - 7.30 am to 8.30 pm - (1 hour break) - 9.30 pm to 10.30 pm (Last Ferry for the evening)
A continuous service operates from 7.30 am to 2.00 am during December and January with extended hours operating October & November and February & March.
These extended hours also operate on all public holidays throughout the year.

Cathedral Cove can be visited anytime. Best photo opportunities are in the morning. At full tide, it may not be possible to walk through the 'cathedral' without getting your feet wet.

Driving Creek Railway is one of the highlights of a day trip to Coromandel Town travelling over the 309 road. Approximately 75 minutes drive to Coromandel township from the lodge.

Front beach, 5 minutes walk.
Flaxmill Bay, 10 minute walk, great for small children.

Yes, the Sunflower Cottage has a king bedroom , queen bedroom and 2 divan beds in the large living area.
The Bougainvillea Suite has a king bedroom and a queen bedroom.

Are young children welcome ?
Here at Ferry Landing Lodge bed and breakfast children of all ages are welcome. We can supply a babies cot, linen, highchair, pushchair and soft toys. We also have a selection of toys, beach equipment, books, games and DVD,s suitable for all ages. Outside the Bougainvillea suite there is a swing and a hammock. Children can enjoy the double kayak under the supervision of an adult.
What is included in the Tariff ?
Healthy buffet style (home-made muesli, spreads & organic fruit preserves etc) breakfast enjoyed with your hosts, Rob & Pam and other guests.

Cash is our preferred method of payment. There are 3 banks and 5 A.T.M's in Whitianga.
Credit Card. A 'manual' transaction allows us to accept Visa or MasterCard. Card holder must be present and the cost (5%) of providing this facility is passed on.

What laundry facilities are available ?
We regret we are unable to provide laundry facilities at the lodge. A '24/7' laundromat service is located in Whitianga - Baywash.

What is the best route to Ferry Landing?
State Highway (SH) 25a, then SH25 to Whenuakite. Take Hotwater beach road, then turn left into Purangi road. 13 km to Ferry Landing.
Alternative route 1.
Take SH25 from Thames to Coromandel Town, Whangapoua, Kuaotunu, Whitianga, Coroglen to the Whenuakite turn-off.
Alternative route 2.
Take SH25 from Thames to Coromandel Town, then follow 309 road (unsealed) to Coroglen, Whenuakite turn off.
