What time can we check in?

Regular check-in between 3 - 6 pm, outside these hours by arrangement.  Arriving early?  Park your car in our secure parking, enjoy complimentary refreshments and start exploring.

What time do we need to check out?
Check-out is 10.30am.

Are pets allowed?
No.

Is smoking permitted?
Ferry Landing Lodge is smoke free.

Wheelchair access?
Limited access, please contact us for details.

How far to Hot Water Beach?
Approximately 15 minutes drive from the lodge.

When is the best time to visit Hot Water Beach?
Most accessible 1 hour either side of Low Tide.

How far to Hahei Beach?
Approximately 12 minutes drive.

Is there a good time to visit Cathedral Cove?
Anytime is good. Best photo opportunities are in the morning. At full tide, it may not be possible to walk through the 'cathedral' without getting your feet wet.

How far to Cooks Beach?
4 minutes drive, 30 - 40 minutes walk.

How far to Whitianga?
By ferry boat, 3 minutes.  By car, 45 minutes drive.

Best beaches for swimming.
Front beach, 5 minutes walk.
Flaxmill Bay, 10 minute walk, great for small children.
Lonely Bay,  30 minute walk, very secluded.
Cooks Beach, 30 minutes walk, safe family beach.

Laundry facilities.
None on site. 24/7 laundromat in Whitianga, 5 minutes ferry, 5 minutes walk.

Where can we get cash?
3 banks and 5 A.T.M's in Whitianga.

What is included in the Tariff?
Inclusive of G.S.T., kayak and mountain bikes,  guest PC, complimentary guided walk to historic Maori Pa site valued at $20 per person.

I have a laptop. Is Wireless internet access available?
Yes, through Zenbu.  'Time' is purchased through their network  using a credit card online.

Can I check my emails on a computer at the Lodge?
Answering  your emails on our guest PC is free.  As we have limited band width, please do not download large files. 

How can we pay?
Cash is our preferred method of payment.
Visa or MasterCard are accepted.  5% bank charges are added and the card holder must be present.

Can I take my car on the Ferry Boat?
No, this is a small passenger only ferry.

How often does the Ferry boat run?
Operates between Whitianga and Ferry Landing 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Winter time-table is 7:00AM to 6:30PM - (1 hour break) - 7:30PM to 8:30PM - (1 hour break) - 9:30PM to 10:30PM
Extended hours operate from October till March. Continuous service from 7:30AM to 2:00AM December - January

How far is the ferry boat from here?
A very pleasant 2 minute walk along the water's edge.

What is the best route to Ferry Landing Lodge from Auckland?










Highway 25a, then Highway 25 to the Whenuakite turn-off is all sealed road.
Highway 25 from Thames to Coromandel Town, Whangapoua, Kuaotunu, Whitianga, Coroglen to the Whenuakite turn-off is also sealed, but takes 2 hours longer.
The Tapu – Coroglen Road and the 309 Road (Coromandel to Whitianga direct), are unsealed. Some Rental Car companies don't allow travel on these two roads.
