A healthy breakfast is an important part of each day, especially when traveling, so your day begins with a choice of specially prepared, nutritious food, served in our sunny conservatory. Experiences are shared, questions asked and activities planned, all in a leisurely fashion, often referred to, as 'Coromandel time'.

Most travelers to Coromandel, will have Hahei Beach and Cathedral Cove walk on their list of things to do. The walk to Cathedral Cove can be enjoyed at any time. Experiencing the fun of 'relaxing in your own hot pool at Hot Water Beach, is dependent on low tide.

Join your friendly hosts and other guests for breakfast. Served on a large circular table in our sunny conservatory.

Most guests find that 2- 5 days allows enough time to enjoy the beaches and experience the local activities close to the lodge.

However long you have, we promise to help you plan your days, so you see as much of The Coromandel as possible. And with a map of both the North Island and South Island of New Zealand on the wall of the conservatory, you can discuss the rest of your trip with Rob during breakfast. Having traveled over most roads in New Zealand, he is able to discuss realistic driving times and point you to various 'out of the way' places to see along the way. Following a leisurely informative breakfast, Maori language lesson, a guided walk for those interested in local European and Maori history is offered. We encourage an early start to the day......but not too early!



Breakfast consists of

  • Home made muesli, packed full of our own dehydrated organically grown fruits, cornflakes or all bran.
  • Preserved plums, peaches, pears, rhubarb, kiwi fruit and fejoas.
  • Seasonal fresh fruit from our garden or the local organic market.
  • Wholesome, toasted grain, fruit bread or you may prefer English muffins or toasted crumpets.
  • A choice of 8 - 10 tasty home-made jams and locally grown organic honey.
  • Peanut Butter and Vegemite are also on the menu but definitely not home-made.
  • Home-made yogurt and soft NZ cheeses.
  • Fruit juice, chilled water with fresh lemon, milk, a selection of teas and freshly brewed, locally roasted coffee.
