Very suitable accommodation for 2, 3 or 4 people who are traveling together. Perhaps a couple visiting NZ to catch up with children working in NZ. We named the suite, 'Bougainvillea' because of a mass of colourful crimson flowers, climbing up and over the pergola. With a paved private courtyard looking out to the harbour, there is a lovely indoor, outdoor flow; a very pleasant place to relax during those busy few days of your stay at the lodge.
Accommodation for 2 couples, each with a private bedroom and a shared large bathroom. Enjoy a great nights sleep, on very comfortable beds in a very peaceful location.
"Launching the kayak just a few feet from the lodge was great. We enjoyed exploring the marina and inner harbor and while we didn't manage to catch a fish,we sure had had fun trying! Oh, and it was so nice to relax and watch the sun setting over the harbor. Two days just wasn't long enough. We'll be back!"
5 beautiful white, sandy beaches to be enjoyed 'on foot'. Front Beach and Buffalo Beach - 5 mins, Flaxmill Bay - 15 mins and the walk to Lonely Bay and Cooks Beach - anywhere from 30 to 60 mins depending on how many times, you stop to enjoy the magnificent scenery. Be sure to take your camera. All beaches are safe for swimming or relaxing and often, in less busy times, you may have the entire beach to yourself. There are not many places in the world this happens.
Hahei Beach (left), Front Beach (centre), Lonely Bay and Cooks Beach (right) - all safe swimming beaches with clear blue water and soft white sand. Cooks Beach was named after Captain Cook who anchored here in 1769 naming the area Mercury Bay.
